It shouldn’t come as a surprise that America’s oldest zoo has been listed as our best charity. They have spearheaded countless conservation projects and made a huge impact into the sustenance of wildlife! Philadelphia Zoo has not only protected endangered species through their work at the Zoo, but facilitated the planting of hundreds of trees in Brazil and created some incredible programs that have had an amazing impact. Their award-winning Albert M. Greenfield UNLESS contest has given thousands of K-12 students opportunities to not only improve the environment around them and encourage practical solutions, but have a direct impact in helping animals in the area enjoy a greater quality of life!

All members of Battle 4 Children Charities are 100% volunteers, from its founders down. Some are victims of abuse whether it’s physical, mental or sexual and grew up in abusive relationships. Art & Marie Salvagno co-founded Battle4Children while Art was still employed by the Philadelphia Police Department Special Victims Unit, alongside his coworkers, investigating over 3,000 child abuse cases annually in Philadelphia alone. They are here to help provide a voice for victims who haven’t found theirs since their traumatic experience.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia is a charitable organization that has served the city’s youth since 1887. With locations in Germantown, Wissahickon and Nicetown, these three original clubs were all part of the founding of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America more than 100 years ago. The club enables young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia is currently regarded as a leading youth guidance and development agency in the community through quality staff, facilities and programs, supported by financial stability and clearly defined standards.
