Located right off the Pennypack Trail in Northeast Philadelphia, the Pennypack Environmental center is connected via bike lanes along Verree Rd, and a paved on-ramp to the trail allows a quick connection between the trail and bike lane. Originally founded as a bird sanctuary today the center is one of Philadelphia’s three environmental centers, and hosts events and programming for all ages The center has an outdoor amphitheater; a small, family-friendly learning center, and a library that shows both the natural and human histories of the Pennypack Creek valley. Need a break from scratching the itch of curiosity and knowledge gathering? They also have places to relax, including campfires and picnic areas. Educational, environmental fun for the whole family!

With more than 2,000 acres of rolling hills, gentle trails, relaxing waterfront and shaded woodlands, Fairmount Park keeps a wealth of natural landscapes in East and West sections of the park, divided by the Schuylkill River. Fairmount Park houses miles of trails for off-road cycling, horseback riding and deep-woods hiking, yet there are also historic mansions, Japanese tea ceremonies and outdoor concerts. Guests can take tours of the Colonial-era mansions that dot the landscape!

This park, the largest in Philadelphia, offers 2,000 acres of everything from trails to waterfront views. The park is perfect for everything from taking a peaceful stroll to playing sports. The park has two outdoor concert venues that typically feature some of the biggest names in music as well as the Philadelphia Orchestra and Philadelphia Museum of Art.
