When you support your local animal shelter, you help save lives. The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society is dedicated to serving homeless and at-risk pets in Philadelphia, and its mission is to make Philadelphia a no-kill city by guaranteeing every savable pet a home. To accomplish this, PAWS rescues animals in the city’s shelter system and evaluates them for adoption, provides veterinary care to those in need, and works with individuals and families in Philadelphia to find a new home for each rescue. PAWS’ Old City Adoption Center is home to dozens of cats who are looking for their forever homes – head to their site at phillypaws.org to learn more about the adoption process!

The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society – PAWS is a shelter where many meet their forever cat or dog for the first time. The shelter is an incredibly fortunate place for any animal who finds its way here. PAWS will tell you about any medical issues with an animal and really check the health and well-being of every animal in their care until someone adopts them. The experience is like any adoption, not like picking up a stray off the street. A shelter run by great and caring people, it is valued among city pet lovers for being the place to meet and take home a great animal. In other instances, you might find a stray and bring it in to be checked over.
