Gritty is the beloved official mascot for the Philadelphia Flyers National Hockey League team. A 7-foot-tall furry orange creature with googly eyes who wears Flyers gear and has been delighting audiences since his debut in September of 2018, Gritty allegedly emerged after construction at the Wells Fargo Center, the Flyers’ home arena, disturbed his secret hideout. Gritty is now an internet sensation who has made many media appearances. He is a fixture at Philadelphia Flyers games where he mans the T-shirt cannon and amuses the crowd with his humorously unpredictable antics.
